Binocular Terminology

New fluoride (FL) glasses, that are made up of the mineral calcium fluoride, significantly improve contrast and colour fidelity. The images are crisply sharp and of the highest contrast right to the edge of the field of view. Contours are always clear and easily made out; incidental light is reduced to a minimum. Unlike conventional optical lenses, fluoride (FL) glasses correct imaging and colour errors much better. You get high-contrast and absolute bright images with natural colour definition. The STEINER models Discovery 10x44, 8x44 and Nighthunter XP 8x44, 10x44 are equipped with fluoride (FL) glasses.
