Development engineer (with project manager skills) of optoelectronic systems for the areas of defense and consumer products (m/f/d)

We are looking for a development engineer who would like to set new standards together with our development team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and a good team player. In this key position, you will report directly to the overall project manager for the development of new products and thus support our innovation strategy.

Your tasks:

  • Development of new optoelectronic products
  • Carrying out specifications analyzes and feasibility studies: Evaluation of design approaches, construction of functional models/prototypes, initial sampling
  • Identification and evaluation of technological innovations
  • Definition and processing of development projects
  • Monitoring and controlling development in the early phases of product creation
  • Analysis and preparation of project-relevant data as well as the presentation of the results within the framework of reports, project meetings and/or workshops (up to the management level)
  • Identification of potential for improvement and initiation of continuous improvement processes
  • Supporting team management and related company departments

Our requirements:

  • Successfully completed engineering studies (university or technical college/technical college in the disciplines: mechatronics, optoelectronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, sensor technology, industrial engineering) or a comparable course of study
  • Very good basic technical understanding in the areas of optoelectronics and mechanics
  • Holistic product understanding for optoelectronic and electromechanical systems
  • Goal-oriented and structured way of working within the product development phase
  • Analytical and critical way of thinking as well as strong communication skills (very good knowledge of spoken and written English)
